Become part of the Sanctuary Support Crew
We regret that our Sanctuary Support Crew programme is currently on hold. This is due to the COVID-19 epidemic and the risks of travel.
Keeping our caretakers safe so that we can continue to look after the animals has to be our first priority. We will update the details on this page as soon as the situation settles - please watch this space! The Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary is looking for keen volunteers who are prepared to come up at least once a month, on an ongoing basis, to carry out a variety of routine tasks. You are expected to attend a mandatory training session before beginning work on site. Sanctuary staff will be around if there are any questions or emergencies but, once trained, volunteers will be expected to complete their tasks independently. The sanctuary is a human-vegan space so you will be expected to eat only vegan food during your stay. We welcome gay/lesbian/bi/trans/queer friendly people and are opposed to all kinds of oppression. The sanctuary aims to be a space safe from sexism, homophobia, racism etc, so please come along with a great attitude! We have plenty of jackets, waterproof boots, warm clothes, etc so don't feel you have to purchase anything to volunteer here. You will need your own means of transport to get to and from the Sanctuary. |
Please also indicate if you would like to receive our newsletter with sanctuary updates and invitations to working bees!
