The Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary Otaki's next working bee will be on Saturday
23 March (Sunday if wet), from 10 am onwards. All welcome !
Here's the plan:
10 - 11am Meet the animals and guided sanctuary tours
11-11.30 Morning tea
11.30-1.30 Morning working bee
1.30-2.30 Lunch
2.30- 5.30 Afternoon working bee
Tasks for the working bee include:
Making a hard base for the pigs to protect their hooves in winter
Working on the wild cat zones
Clearing more gorse and blackberry, thistles etc
Picking up animal poo
Fencing
If by any chance you have a trailer that you could bring, that would be wonderful - we'll need to transport gravel from the quarry site to make the hard base for the pigs.
Please bring clothing for all weathers, gumboots, sunblock, and vegan treats.
We will be providing a yummy vegan lunch!
