Can you help the animals at the Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary this winter? Summer grass is being cut for hay this month, so the sanctuary is fundraising to buy in winter feed supplies. In the colder months, the grass stops growing, and so the cows, sheep, goats and Thunder the horse will all need extra hay, grain, and pellets to keep them healthy and happy.
The generous people who donate will receive a small token of thanks. We're very grateful and humbled by the support we've received in the past, and we're hoping for your continued support. Just $9 buys a bale of hay.
We need around $3000 to buy in grain, hay, pellets and other essential feeds, so we're launching our annual fundraiser for hay now. The grass is being cut right now, and this is the best time to buy in our winter stocks of hay.
Although the Animal Protection Society's fundraising shops cover the mortgage on the sanctuary land and some animal care, the sanctuary we largely depend on the support of compassionate people to cover off our animal care, food, housing and veterinary bills. Our Kilbirnie shop was closed for a month in November 2015 due to moving, which means that funds are tighter than usual. Can you help us ensure the cows, sheep and horses are happy and well-fed this winter? We are a registered charity so all donations are tax deductible and go directly to animal tummies!
