We had a stunning sunny day for this month's working bee, after having to postpone it slightly due to a predicted southerly storm on the Saturday! It was a very productive day - we continued work on the goat fence, built a goat shelter, and enlarged the gardens in front of the caretaker house. We also had a great shared lunch, eating lots of dahl, vegan sausage rolls, oven chips, sandwiches and chocolate cake! Lovely to see the two ex-broiler chooks, Clarence and Archie, who were looking very happy strutting around the paddock with much clucking and crowing. We're keeping them separate from the ten other roosters in the orchard rooster park - who are enjoying hanging out in the trees. There's a new rooster with heart-shaped black patches on his plumage, who is a particularly striking bird.
