![]() Wanted - haybales! Winter feed stocks are low at the Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary, & we need to replenish our supplies of hay to tide us over until summer. We've been lucky with the mild weather, but with extra mouths to feed, our stocks are running low, and grass growth is still extremely slow.Just $10 buys a haybale! You can also sponsor a specific animal or group of animals. Even the smallest gift makes a real difference to our animal protection work. Spring news at the Black Sheep
We're looking forward to spring! We are very busy caring for a new lamb, two goat kids, and two baby bunnies. All have been rescued from desperate situations, so we're very glad to take them in. They join the miniature horses, ex-battery hens, ducks, rats, pilgrim geese, cows, ex-battery chickens, sheep, pigs, goats, dogs, cats, nearly 50 roosters, a herd of pigs - over 160 animals in all. You can sponsor an animal through the Black Sheep! We are also seeking loving permanent homes for cats, cows and sheep ideally with vegetarian families - this will enable us to take in and care for more animals on an ongoing basis. The Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary is a safe and sustainable space to rehabilitate and re-home abused, injured, and neglected non-human animals. We are a relatively new sanctuary on 26 acres of land at Ōtaki Forks, an hour's drive north of Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand. The Sanctuary operates according to animal rights principles and promotes animal liberation. We are not open to the public, but visitors are welcome at working bees. |
