The Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary seeks loving permanent homes for our rescued animals. |
Adoption Guidelines and Contact Form
All potential adopters must apply to the Animal Protection Society. A member of our Animal Care group will then visit the new home to assure that this will provide appropriate and comfortable housing, shelter, food and exercise area. Please note that most farm animals live in social groups and will not be adopted into situations where they will live alone. We place them where they will have a companion of their own kind to live with. If approved, the new caregiver must sign an adoption contract. Each animal has his or her own set of adoption requirements and must be adopted as a companion. Adopted animals may not be killed or used commercially for food production, or used for breeding purposes or experimentation. They may not be exploited through zoos, rodeos, circuses, or otherwise used for profit or entertainment. All re-homed animals are wormed, and spayed or neutered. Adoption fees vary depending on the kind of animal, and help fund veterinary expenses undertaken by the sanctuary. In our follow up program, a representative from the Animal Protection Society will periodically check on the animal's well-being. If at any time the Animal Protection Society feels that the animal is not being properly taken care of as agreed in the contract, we reserve the right to reclaim the animal. |
