I am a cross of a red nose pit bull and something else, whatever it is, I am the sweetest wee girl. I am about a year old.

I was found abandoned in a park when I was about 5 weeks old….luckily my current owners were taking a walk and found me…because of my excessive cuteness they took me home, hungry and crying and have looked after me.

I am in DESPERATE need of a new home. You see my owners have had a major change in their circumstances...my dad
became very sick and is on dialysis a lot and now my mum is working a lot. Although they love me very much I am not getting the attention and exercise I need and we are all getting very stressed out!

I have to spend most of my time indoors because I do not have a safe front or back yard to play in now that I am bigger. I have to have that.

I am an energetic girl who loves to run and exercise, I have a sweet nature and I am good with other dogs. I have never been in close contact with any other animal so that is an area I am not sure about! I love cuddles, food, playing with toys and a soft bed!!

I have been spayed and am up to date with all my shots. The vet says I am in very good condition. I would be
best suited to parents who can spend time playing and exercising me regularly with a fenced area for me to run around in.

Since I have a Pit Bull mix the SPCA cannot re-home me and would have to put me down. I cannot be advertised on just any website in case I fall into the wrong hands. I urgently require a new home so if anyone would like to meet me I would surely love to meet you.

March update

http://www.theblacksheep.org.nz/1/post/2012/03/march-update.html

http://www.theblacksheep.org.nz/1/post/2012/03/march-update.html#comments

Uncategorized

Everything continues very busy at the sanctuary as we move into autumn. As always we are busy caring for new arrivals, notably a flock of 11 sheep. All were rescued and have their own individual stories. Their original rescuer and caregiver could no longer look after them and so they came to the Black Sheep! They include Klapansi, who has only three legs - he was born with a deformed leg, which had to be amputated. Fortunately he is doing just fine on three... There's also Splotchy - his tongue was partly eaten by seagulls when he was a newborn lamb. He survived the trauma and is lovely, friendly and healthy, though he does tend to dribble a bit due to his tongue problems.

Billy has also arrived - he's a large and splendid 18-month old billy goat. Sadly his former owner could no longer care for him.
Another new guest is the lovely Peanut, a very elderly chestnut horse with a large white splotch on her forehead. Though she has no top teeth she is eating fine, and has put on a bit of weight since she arrived. She has moved into the cow paddock, and hangs out with Thunder, who is looking nice and smart with a recent fringe trim!

We've also been busy working on the wetland area, which will be a home to ducks, frogs, and other wildlife. Fencing, planting, and gardening continues, and our boundary fence is now complete. We've also put in a small duckpond in the top paddock. Our next project is a barn to provide extra winter shelter, store hay etc.

Those of you who can make it to the Sanctuary working bee on the 31st will be able to meet our new friends - see the post below for more details!

<div style="height: 20px;
